Bigger Brakes for '88's Retaining the Lace Wheels (Page 1/1)

Good Evening, All,

Well this is an old topic but one that seems just about immortal.

What I want to know is whether the Raybestos P/N 7993 11.260" Vented Rotors as used in the Zettner brake conversion will work with the '88 calipers?

I do not know, but suspect, that a simple 'dog bone' style mounting adapter similar to the ones used for the 12" Vette rotor conversion would permit 11.260 rotors on an '88 Fiero reusing all the Fiero hardware (calipers, MC, E-brakes) and still fit inside the lace wheels!

I just do not know enough to figure it all out <sigh>.

Please do not ask "Why bother?"; or state that the stock brakes are good enough.....for me, at least, I would like to do this.

Does anyone out there know if it is feasible or if there is a fatal flaw in the approach....or even has such a design!

TIA, and, as always,

Warm Regards,

Larry

Here is an old thread that shows how much you have to clearance the knuckle, grind on the rotors, and clearance the face of the caliper bridge... (not something I would recommend doing).

That's the LeBaron rear commonly used on 11 1/4" upgrades for '84-'87 cars.
