Cut glass to fit 1/4 window? (Page 1/1)

Fellas,
I need some help. I could not find a 1984 glass 1/4 window replacement piece? Anywhere🧐!
I did however find a good replacement frame piece. Has anyone [or a glass company] been able to cut a replacement glass piece? I prefer using the glass. Any ideas or thoughts?
Cordially,
kevin

The 84 glass is part of the structure with the glass molded in. The later years, the 'glass' was a plastic insert. If the 84 glass should break, you have nothing left but the front B pillar portion and the molded glass frame.

Paul McKibben of FieroSails is the only one who ever reproduced the plastic insert repair piece. He has retired and even though his son has revived FieroSails, he isn't offering that replacement piece. Probably your only option is to find another full replacement piece.

There is a small difference in the 84 and 85 when compared to the 86-88 quarterwindows. The 84 and 85 had small metal pins on the rear angular portion that pushed into clips on the roofline flange. Later years had 1/4 inch plastic pins. I encountered that when replacing windows on one of my early cars. I had to drill out the holes on the roof flange to make them large enough for the plastic pins to insert.

I know I have a 1/4 glass. Perhaps right & left. One is out of frame and the other is with frame. See if I can find pic.

Here we go. Lots of reflection but they're pretty good. I can take better pic if interested. Appears both are passenger side.
