Rodney Dickman - Faster Power Window Motors issue (Page 1/1)

Not sure if this is an issue with how it was installed (though I’m presuming it is), but after a few weeks of the new window motors working faster and as expected, the passenger side window now knocks when it reaches the top limit of being rolled up (door open or closed). In addition to that, once the window is up, after opening and closing the door a couple of times, the window glass begins to drop down on the back end of the glass, preventing it from sealing properly, leaving almost a finger’s width of opening behind.

Anyone have some thoughts as to what might be causing this or what might be the easiest way to check/resolve the issue? When my father and I were installing the motors, we pulled the panel from the inside, but I was curious if this might be easier from the opposite side by pulling the exterior door skin. He also mentioned that he notice there wasn’t a whole lot of contact between the regulator gear and the motor gear. Wondering if that might be related, but I would suspect I would see issues going all the way up, rather than just when it reaches the top most limit?

Thanks in advance,

-Chris

That sounds like a problem with the linkage rather than the motor.
Pull the panel back off and look at it.
