So my 86 was in storage for 29 years, the breaks are good, rotors clean, plenty of pad , only 13k on them. BUT they feel a bit soft, I'm thinking the fluid needs to be replaced, well yeah it does Of Course due to age, but is that the issue or am I expecting too much from OEM brakes ?

Air in the fluid anywhere, stuck sliders, and other thing can make problems...
See my Cave, Brake Service and rest of section.

After 29 years in storage there's a good chance the brake hoses are perished. You should replace all brake line to calliper hoses with new hoses (Some folks like to use ss braided hoses.) and then flush and bleed the brake system to make sure there's no water or air in the system. With any luck, you may be able to able to avoid changing the master cylinder.
