85 GT rear left. My son slid the car into a curb. Broken wheel and tire was WAY toed in and WAY positive camber. I took it all apart and to my surprise couldn't find anything bent. I removed and/or checked all the following: Control arm - not bent or twisted - checked against a good arm Ball joint - replaced but only maybe a little bent where it mounts to the control arm toe link - replaced but no obvious damage - this does seem to have corrected the toe in strut - not removed but not bent and has recoil cradle fastening points for control arm - no signs of bending or twisting spindle - removed, no signs of bending or breaking top strut mount - no deflection of the metal in the engine compartment, all fasteners look ok and are tight
I am totally stumped. What am I missing?

A) The camber adjustment is via the two large bolts that hold the strut to the spindle...It can be confusing to move it the right way.....
B) the other possibility is that the top part of the spindle has been bent....Take a picture of it and post it....or make a cardboard template and compare the two sides to see if that one is out of shape.
C) Tell your son not to run into curbs!

I even loosened those two bolts, put the wheel back on, and let it down hoping the weight would straighten it up. didn't help. I had already tried pushing in/down on the strut/ spindle joint while tightening them back up. Also didn't help. I'll check the spindle. I already told my son! LOL Thanks!

We need photos if you want us to see something you've missed, otherwise we're grasping at straws.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find the strut is slightly bent so I have new ones to put on. I think I'll go ahead and get another spindle. I'm not sure it's bent but I did notice the paint has come off the area where it would have bent or at least flexed. The paint on the opposite side is fine. ------------------ Don Ridenour 85 GT 3.4
