So there’s a consistent minor leak of oil coming out of basically the middle of under the front hood. It’s slightly tan, thin cleanish oil. What is that?

Could be fluid out of the brake master or the clutch master cylinder. ------------------ 86 GT built 2.2 ecotec turbo rear SLA suspension QA1 coilovers on tube arms

The only oil up front is ATF running to and from the the automatic transmission oil heat exchanger in the radiator.

I had a very similar problem and it turned out to be the steering stabilizer.

Any/all Above is possible... or something spilled or Brake Fluid got into Spare tire well and drain thru a drain hole at bottom.
RF Brake has a tube above the steering rack. If that leaks, brake can damage the aluminum rack body. (B-fluid Leaks at the wheels can do same for alloy rims.)
Brake fluid isn't just feels like oily, can/will "burn" your skin too and doesn't smell like most oils.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. (Jurassic Park)

This is a key indicator... if it's coming from the drain hole in the front "bucket", then it's from inside the front compartment. If it's not, then it's not.
Remove the spare tire to expose the drain hole at the lowest point of the bucket.

Found it! There was no fluid in the bucket and when I looked under the car it was obvious it was coming from the steering dampener. Thanks
