86 gt engine swap (Page 1/1) Vague_ham OCT 16, 12:46 AM So I recent got a hold of an 86 4 speed v6 gt. I've honestly never even owned an American car myself, tho I've built quite a few Toyotas and helped my dad work on his fords. My all time favorite car is the Toyota mr2, so when I was practically given this car, I was pretty excited to say the least. My first thought was to swap the engine and tranny since they're both toast anyway, and since the mr2 is practically modeled after this car, I figured I'd swap a booster 3s motor w/ trans from an old mr2 I have laying around. Has anyone done this kind of swap before? And/or is there anyone/any thread out there that can help out with what I might need? I assume its gonna need a lot of custom parts, but any help, tips, or websites that can help I would greatly appreciate it. I know a lot of the engines that have already been swapped into a fiero, I've been searching for hours lol, sc 3800s and what not, but I figure this would be a pretty unique build, and I personally am more comfortable working on the 3s engine.
