Fuel pump question 84 SE (Page 1/1)
commerce NOV 07, 07:02 PM
The car is an 84. It has been a good runner for years and has a fuel pump that is a few years old.
The car was running fine and suddenly quit. Fuel pump stopped. No prime when key is turned on.
I put 12 volts to the g terminal and the pump runs but the injector does not pulse.
The car will start on starting fluid so it's getting spark.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Not.
ALDL G is After the relay and OP switch so 12V there bypass them should run the pump.

No pump then wires to or pump are bad.
No pressure then likely install w/ wrong hose and failed. No pressure can make pump to run w/o making much noise because has no load.

Pump needs fuel immersion hose in the tank. SAE 30R10 or equiv. https://www.underhoodservic...l-hose-installation/

Make sure you use ALDL G... 12V to other pins cause big problems or short to ground.

Yep, 12 volts to G terminal and the pump runs fine.
Not sure why the injector wont fire with the fuel pump jumped .
