Should C500 be moved when swapping in a V6 (Page 1/1)

Hi ,
I pulled out a frozen 4 cylinder to install a 2.8 V6 in a 1984. C500 is on the bulkhead near where the V6 exhaust manifolds would be. Should I move C500 to near the battery as it is in later Fieros? I have plenty of wire and connectors from vans that were scrapped years ago as well as an extra 1984 engine side harness so extending the harness is not a problem.

Optionally, is there a way to protect C500 if it is left in the original location?

I will be removing the 12V feed from C500 and using a terminal block for its distribution.

Thanks to all who have responded to my questions,

Lyle

The answer is 'yes'. The connector will get hot and degrade if too close to the exhaust manifold.
