My ecm fried up and I bought a refurbished ecm but I can’t get it to work, checked connections and put in my prom in it but it doesn’t work, what can I check that may affect ecm from working properly.

What symptoms are you experiencing? Have you done an ECM scan? How did you determine that the ECM was not functioning?
FYI, refurbished ECM's seldom come with the prom chip. Did you check if your ECM has one?

No code 12 or any and yes I did transfer my prom to the new one, even when I open the key the light doesn’t come on, the light works but it seems the ecm doesn't activate it , I crank the car and I don’t here the fuel pump prime, but after a couple cranks it primes but it doesn't spray fuel in the throttle body, I have spark and all but it seems the ecm isn’t activating, can a relay stop the ecm from functioning?

ECM has 2 power feeds...
1 fuse in fuse box.
1 fusible link in engine bay w/ disconnect to reset "codes." Goes to "box" under C500 for 85-88 Fiero.

Either "dead" then ECM not working.

Does the disconnect wire have power when you disconnect it, at all time or when you open the key?

That's always "hot" so ECM remembers what it's learned.
That's the disconnect to clear stored error codes.
After that, the ECM has to relearn idle etc. as you drive.
