Headlights (Page 1/1)

Hello all. I am new to the Fiero world. I have an 88 gt with 67K miles. It is yellow (I was told that only 242 were made in this color that year) and owned by a GM executive. I purchased the car from his daughter, as the clutch was out and she could not afford the repairs. As a result, I took the car to a local shop and the removed the entire rear clip and we resealed and restored everything. It runs like new and drives great.

My problem is this. The headlights only get halfway up before they stop. When the hood is up the work fine, but when they contact the doors they stop. I have purchsed new headlight motors and cleaned and lubed everything. I am wondering if the voltage control module is to blame, but would light to exclude everything else,as I understand that getting to that module is a bear.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Module shuts off motors when sees door and/or lifts have problems or at the full open/close.

Lift only hit door at 2 to 4 points and never hit hood holes.
2 main contact spots are back of bucket frame rubs 2 plastic bearing strips on bottom of a door.

Nothing else should hit door or hood.

1 example: HL lift 4 mount studs are in very oversize holes for a reason... Likely you have lifts out and now not reinstalled right so whole lift to set low and too left or right. Trim around HL can hit hole, door or both wrong and bind up the lift and module killing power.
