Door Skin/Dew Wipe Alignment (Page 1/1)

So I went ahead and swapped my passenger side outer dew wipe last night, and when all was said and done, realized that on the passenger side, the wipe is sitting flush to the top of the door skin, while on the driver side, the door skin sits raised about 1/16" above the dew wipe lip. See pic below - this is of the passenger side. Does anybody know which way is correct, or how the variability comes into play? I can't imagine the dew wipe has vertical play...so does the door skin have that much?

i don't think the rubber goes on top of the skin like that.

So you're thinking skin needs to move up? That makes sense, and it is what my driver side is like. I'm just curious how I got myself in this predicament. Somehow maybe my door skin is sitting low?

Likely Door Frame has damage making skin problems.

Look at both doors at back. Metal should have same shape but P-side is bent out doing above.

Another example: Upper door frame where mirror lives can bent fairly easy if a mirror shell get hit. That can make mirror problems and maybe skin not fitting.
