Chip on 2.8L V6 valve cover (Page 1/1)

I yanked my valve covers today as I’m planning to get them and my upper intake sandblasted and powder coated. While I was cleaning them up I saw my front side valve cover had a chip on the outer bottom lip.

Is this something that is cosmetic or do I need to start looking for a new valve cover?

IMO that is cosmetic. The seal will be made on the top and bottom side of the gasket, not the outside of the gasket. That said, you could have it welded up and ground back down. It'll be next to new.
