Brake pads (Page 1/1)

I’m going to change / update the brake pads on my new to me 88 GT. I’ve searched both this forum and google to see what people are using or recommend. Most threads regarding pads are at least 8 years old. With ever changing technology and newer pads available, I was wondering what everyone is using or suggests. Mostly street driven and occasionally aggressive braking. Also looking for rotor suggestions as well, figure “while I’m at it...”

Thanks
Steve

I've always had Wagner Thermoquiet pads on my 88, front and rear for years with no issue at all. Not that much dust and quiet! Great for a stock car.

I've recently stepped up my game with EBC Yellowstuff pads to coincide with the high horsepower LS4 swap I'm going with. They are much more aggressive, and even without getting too much driving in to see what they could do (~350 miles) before having to park for awhile due to the first major snow of the year, I was super happy with them and the improved breaking performance. These pads are a lot more dusty, however.

I have Porterfield R4-S pads on my 84 Indy Pace Car.
I wanted the best braking while keeping everything else stock.
Great braking and virtually no dust!! VERY happy with them.

Available for all year Fieros

Wagner Thermo Quite pads and Wagner rotors here. Thermo Quites are very difficult to find these days. The replacement line from Wagner is the Quick Stop pads.

I found out about DOT bake pad codes recently:

Knowing about them may help you make a more informed choice.
