Hi, i am in the process of replacing my oil pan (2.8L). When i was taking out the starter i noticed the bracket below that was attached to the starter cable wire with the black circle clip but the metal bracket itself was not attached to anything. I can see a witness mark on the bracket showing it was held on by a nut but not sure where it attaches. Does anyone know where this attaches?

Hey, nero. I believe that bracket gets one of the oil pan bolts through it. It's a locator/retainer to keep the cable from getting itself into trouble. Pretty sure, anyway. Mine has one.

Thank you! That is where I had eventually guessed where it attached but was not sure. When I took the old oil pan off one of the bolts had a circular washer under it which I found strange since it was the only one. I assume this is where the bracket should attach instead of the circular washer. Thanks again.
