Coolant pooling on top of transmission (Page 1/1)
Jace JAN 20, 09:09 AM
Stock 2.8 engine is loosing coolant slowly and I found it pooling on top of the transmission. Cannot find the source of the leak and was wondering if anyone knew what it might be. Did not find anyone else with this issue while searching.

Likely cause: Lower Intake manifold gasket

You have a leak.
One still needs pressure in the system to leak.
V6 intake and heads has coolant flowing in them and both over the trans bell level.
V6 TB has coolant "pipes" can doing same. Crap hose(s) or clamp(s) can leak under pressure.

Need correct Rad cap and fill right way to hope will leak when system is hot and engine runs to try to purge air out and leak.
See my Cave, Coolant Fill & Radiator Caps

Normally can pressurize the system cold w/ rad tester but most testers won't fit in a Fiero w/o major work because Test caps won't clear the hood.
