Gen 2 Headlight Control Module Connectors (Page 1/1)

Good morning, all!

So I recently joined the club. The wife and I were looking for a sensible winter family car, found a Fiero, laughed about how bad a choice it would be, and ended up with an '84 Fiero.

It needs all the regular work, and thanks to the fine folks here, that's mostly been a snap! I've run into some trouble with a Gen 1 to Gen 2 headlight motor swap though: The connectors! Finding a control module was easy enough, though finding a forward lamp harness seems insurmountable, so, no big deal, I'm repurposing the Gen 1 harness. Problem is, the control module has two connectors that, despite my best efforts, I simply can't find; I'm not even sure what to ask Ebay, but I've identified all kinds of search terms that don't work! I'm about a heartbeat away from sitting down with a micrometer and putting a 3d printed model together, but I figured I should ask the experts first:

-Is there a readily available set of connectors for the Gen 2 headlight control module? Or perhaps a reasonable facsimile? What's the model number?

-What gauge are the relay wires? I've poked all through the repair manual and just not found that info; it will certainly make patching easier.

Importantly, I'm not asking if anyone has parts they want to part with. The next poor guy who does this project is potentially going to run into the same issue, so, for posterity, I'm trying to identify or produce a replacement part.

The help is really appreciated! If, unfortunately, we need to 3d print, and the subsequent model is, fortunately, not awful, I'll post it up somewhere accessible.

Thanks!

I have been proponent of retaining the Headlight motor Gen 1 harness and re-using it when replacing the system with Gen 2 headlight motors with the Gen 2 module. The re-wire chore is not hard but you are correct that the connectors to the Gen 2 headlight motor module are hard to find.
Standard Motor products connector S-1607 will fit the 5 pin side. About $32 from Summit Racing Equipment. Don't know about the four pin side connector but it is most likely available. IIRC the Corvette Headlight motors come with a long lead w. connector that will fit the output side of the module. The Corvette and Fiero headlight motor systems are nearly identical

Thank you, Dennis! This ended up being the last breadcrumb I needed. I ended up finding all of the connectors (from a Firebird, but still) on Parts Geek. No idea why they never came up for the Fiero; I'm noticing that kind of thing at several parts sites, actually.

In any case, I think I'll be up and rolling next week.

Thanks again!
