My 88 Fiero coupe ignition does not have an "accessory" position. Is this normal?

It will not go past the "lock" position.

Mine wouldn't either when I first got it but after driving the car a while and using the ignition more I was able to get ACC to work. Maybe a little graphite in the lock would help? Work it back and forth?

That is great news. Not sure how long the car sat before I bought it so sounds logical.
I used to own an 84 2M4 and don't recall it having that issue.
The 88 has a nice Sony stereo in it and I hate to turn the ignition on to mess with it or set it up.
