I seem to be posting here a lot recently.
When I release my clutch while in neutral, I hear a knocking type sound, and I researched it as being a bad input shaft bearing.
The thing is, this noise only started happening after I changed to synchromesh fluid, the old oil was probably just 5w-30.
Is this just a coincidence? Im tempted to change the fluid back to engine oil to see if the sound is still there. What do you guys think?

I think you should mention what transmission you're dealing with.
It's possible you have the much discussed Getrag rattle.

ah sorry yeah I have the 5 speed getrag.
So this is common? is it a problem or just something that happens with the getrag

Also why would it only start after changing the trans fluid from 5w-30 to syncromesh?

Plenty of threads posted here on this. Basically, just learn to live with the racket.
Here's what my Getrag rattle sounds like...

Ah ok, as long as my transmission aint about blow up I can live with it.
When I first changed the fluid, I honestly thought my engine started knocking... But then I stepped on the clutch.
I can just tell people i have a multiplate clutch lol
