Turn Signal Stopped Working Need Help (Page 1/2)
str8maxn APR 10, 12:25 AM
Hello everyone,

My turn signals stop working.. I thought it might have been my flasher ; as I heard some loose inside of it. I ordered a new one and it didn't correct my issue.

I am not sure were to start ... Fuse? If so where is it located? Column mechanism?

Any troubleshooting insight or possible root cause would be appreciated.

Are light(s) on or not?
On Then Not a fuse but no blink is often blown bulb(s) and/or bad grounds.

See my Cave, Sneak Path & Lighbulbs

New flasher? In plastic case? Then Do Not use clip on L side Steering Column frame. The Clip will crush it then often short out.
Flasher in P side of car is Hazard not Turn.

I currently have the fiero completed gutted ... no interior, no carpet, no gauges, nothing... Do you think that could be why?

Have Dash out should only have no 194 bulbs in the dash and not a problem for turn or hazard circuit.
Can have other plugs pulled and can cause problems.
On top of above problems w/ iffy grounds etc for 2057 bulbs.

Hello all,

I am in the process of re-installing the interior. I put in the cluster and AUX cluster and while testing found something perplexing.

When I apply the brake, both turn signals light up in the cluster, both turn signals light up on the front bumper and my tac lights up. Tac does work correctly (Turn signal troubleshooting still pending)
I recently added a 120 Speedo and AUX cluster. Aux cluster seems working correctly so I think its wired up correctly.

Check it out.

Also, I missed this part during the installation of the dash. How important is it?
I believe it goes behind the AC ducting.

So, I figured out that some of the contact tabs (brass looking tabs) on the cluster connector folded over on each other. I used some super glue to put them back in there place.
This took car of the Tac coming on each time I hit the brakes.

However, Both my turn signals still turn on when I hit the brake and I still don't have turn signals.

Is notch back car w/ red taillights?
check hazard button is turn off.
Brake light switch is parallel w/ hazard circuit and will light turn dash bulb and turn switch does nothing.

Hazard Flasher may be pulled or dead but Hazard Switch doesn't care and disables turn when on.

Is done on purpose so people turn on hazard while driving and still have brake lights.

Is notch back car w/ red taillights? Yes, 1985 Notch back

check hazard button is turn off. Button is off and when turned on hazards don't work
Hazard Flasher may be pulled or dead but Hazard Switch doesn't care and disables turn when on. May I ask where the flasher is located?

TheOgre- any idea on the importance of the two covers used to cover the AC ducting?

Well TheOrge , seem you've done it again. Seems I don't have an emergency flasher at all nor a blue chime thingy. I could have swore I had turn signals. So I have not idea where the flasher went.

I'll be hunting one down and keep you posted.

Thank you sir.

The two plates in the picture you posted are not related to the A/C ducting. They go on either side of the center tunnel under the carpet. They connect to the console skeleton just under the radio stack.
