Will a faulty fuel pump turn the CEL on? (Page 1/1)

So I've been having issues w/ my 88 formula, sometimes when I try to let out the clutch the car goes all over the place, seems like it's being given gas and then engine brake, repetitivly. Its like it doesn't know when /how much I'm pushing onto the gas and it has a mind of it's own. It gets worse the more I push the throttle
I looked for loose wires/grounds, vaccine leaks, found nothing. I was thinking of a bad fuel pump, but before I do that, do you guys know if that would turn my CEL on? Because when this symptom happens, it turns on for the duration of it,.
If I turn the car off and back on again, it runs fine and normal. But the CEL is OFF again, so I don't think I can even read what the code WAS saying. And there's no way I would be able to read the codes when it's happening, borderline undrivable.
Thanks!

I know you're new here, but please don't start new threads on the same issue. Doing so only serves to disjoint discussion on the matter. You'd be much better off to post what you asked here in the original thread.

Hey, sorry about that, i wasn't getting any response in my other thread and have no clue where to go, so I tried to make it an easier thread to read so people could respond. Again sorry about that.
