Grand Am brake mod... Std 9.7" brake rotors/calipers or the WS6 10.2" versions? (Page 1/1)

I've never seen a reference to the WS6 brake rotors in any Grand Am brake mod post. Is there any reason the larger 10.2" WS6 rotors ( with matching calipers) won't work?

The difference in diameter would require moving the caliper utilizing custom brackets?

I'm thinking the WS6 calipers make up for the .5 increase in rotor diameter.
I'll try to verify that the std. and WS6 Grand Am use the same spindle

I'm only seeing one part number for the spindle ( steering knuckle in GM speak) 10055163

From looking at listings on RockAuto, it looks like '90 was a changeover year. The 1990 non-WS6 brakes were the standard brakes from 1989 & older. The 1990 WS6 brakes became the standard brakes for 1991 & newer. For both older and newer models, Rock does not provide separate listings for WS6/non-WS6 brakes.

The Grand Am upgrade is typically done with the '80's Grand Am parts. I'm not sure I've heard of it being tried with the early '90's parts. I don't know if they bolt up, but you can blaze that trail if you want!

IIRC, the next generation of Grand Am did not use 5x100 bolt pattern.

I may not recall this correctly however....
