| engine chugs hard when using accessories (Page 1/1) |

any time i use any system in my fiero (lights, blinkers, coolant fan, windows), the engine chugs real hard and the radio loses reception and freaks out basically. would this be a short? or a bad alternator or something? any help would be appreciated.

that sounds very much like an alternator issue. It may or may not be the alternator, itself. A quick, FREE test would be to check your belt tension. Your car may run "okay" until you put it under load.
if the tension is okay, check the alternator output.
