F23/3800 SC- Consensus on clutch ? (Page 1/1)

Hello folks

Any input on what brand of clutch you have used for this combo? I believe I need to get a spacer to prevent the HTOB from over extending, but what has been a successful clutch for this trans/engine combo?

I have been running a Spec 3 behind my 282 Getrag/3800 SC for a number of years and have been happy with it.

Any reason to switch? I believe my fywheel is fine- don't seem to have any issues with it

thanks

Some older clutches have slight interference with the F23 bellhousing... so check that out. Otherwise, I haven't heard of a reason you wouldn't be able to keep running the same clutch.

Do a test fit of the trans, torque the bellhousing bolts, then roll the engine over by hand. If you have problems, then you have the pressure plate cover/bellhousing interference issue.

I assume you've researched the F23 swap and are comfortable with all the other needs.
