Code 32 oddity. (Page 1/1)

Some time ago I attempted to repair the EGR solenoid. It worked for a while, crapped out. Got tired of messing with it and jumped the vacuum switch. Now, the transmission (auto) shifts smoother. Before, the 1-2 shift was kinda harsh, 2-3 would only occur above 35 mph. Now, the 1-2 shift is quite a bit smoother, 2-3 shift occurs at 25 mph with light throttle. I have no explanation for this, anyone have any ideas? Oh yeah, no more code 32.

Seems like you had a vacuum leak which in the old days would cause a harsh shift to the transmission modulator valve. You probably had a vac-leak all along that affected the transmission. I'm only assuming that external modulator valves still exist on transmissions.

The transmission does not have a vacuum modulator. I think it possible that the vacuum switch for the EGR solenoid might have had something to do with it.
