Hey guys, I recently noticed oil pouring out of my 3.4 88 formula after I shut it off, it was the valve cover, someone seemed to have installed it wrong and I fixed that, I still noticed oil dripping off the other side of the engine now, (tranny side). I put some UV dye in (love that stuff) and it seems like it's coming straight from in between the tranny and the engine. It drops directly down the center seam line of the oil pan. I'm either thinking it's the oil pan gasket, in that exact spot would be unlikely tho, and the only thing up there is RMS right? Its not coming from anywhere else I'm 100 percent sure of it. And I can't imagine the RMS would be easy to replace now would it? It's wierd because the swap only has 30k on the rebuild, would it be leaking already?. Thanks for the help guys!

Make sure the oil isn't actually leaking from where the distributor sticks into the block. There's a high pressure oil gallery down below, and if the distributor O-ring has been torn or has become rock hard with age, oil will leak past the O-ring and ooze out at the base of the distributor.

Once you got the engine out and the trans removed, the RMS is pretty easy to do (do the oil pan while you are there). It's getting to that stage that's the bugger. ------------------ Anything I might say is probably worth what you paid for it, so treat it accordingly!
