I have a 1986 Fiero SE 2.8 V6 and i had just gotten it from the mechanic as it had a collapsed lifter. (he didnt actually fix it because i was on a time crunch, he said he "adjusted it as if it was a manual lifter.") anyway, an hour later, it shut off while i was driving! i stopped and tried to start it again, but to no avail. i have spark, air, fuel, combustion, and timing. it just wont start. it does have a code 32 which is something to do with the EGR. i need help.

Take oil cap off, have somebody else crank the engine over while you watch inside valve cover to make sure the rocker arms are moving.

I'll add to that by saying, If the rockers are not moving you could have (1) A broken timing chain, (2) Starter not engaging the flywheel, (3) Broken crankshaft at the flywheel end or Worse.

they are all moving, also the egr was bypassed so thats why it has a code 32. we are going to replace the lifters on cylinder 6 and see what happens

Check to see if the mechanic accidently left something unplugged. Check all your engine sensors. One could be not seated fully.

Even if one cylinder is non-functional, IMO the engine should still be able to start, and run... although perhaps not too smoothly.

Check that one or both fuel injector fuses haven't blown.
