Engine cover (Page 1/1)

As a new Fiero owner I have so many questions! I feel like I'm buggin' y'all. But anyway, I notice water can run right through the engine vent/cover and right into the engine bay (near the wiring). This just doesn't seem right to me to let water in there. Someone please educate me on what's goin' on here.

C500, Relays, and some others has "Bulb Grease" to keep out water.
Do Not remove "thick grease" there. Dirt on it won't matter.
Many Parts stores have Bulb Grease in small packs if needed to fix/replace them.

Others you can clean the joints and use Brake or Silicone Grease for same thing like:
+ power "box" under C500.
Battery Cables.
All ground bolted/screwed to engine and sheet metal anywhere in the car.

Brake grease won't wash off easy or run when hot and is plastic friendly. Permatex 2oz Tube last for Years even Decades for most of the DIY crowd. All you need is a thin coat to protect and lube whatever.

Do Not use Font or Size button for whole post. Beside Many Hate Comic Sans, that and some others are hard to read for many users. Courier New mono-space Font is used mainly for lists and code needing this to post/read right. Code button uses Courier New as default font so don't add a font when used.
