Tail lights and tail light bulbs (Page 1/1)

So from my understanding is that the rear “Pontiac” logos on the Gt’s are supposed to light up whenever you have your headlights on, right? I vaguely remember them doing it on my fiero, anyway. However, one of my bulbs never lit up, and the others were dim. Today, I went to go verify if this was still the case, (as I’m about to install Keith Goodyear taillights,) but when I turned on my lights and looked behind my car, I didn’t see any lights from the “Pontiac” at all. So what I’m asking is it possible to just buy and install new lights while I’m in there replacing the tail light lenses, since it seems mine have burned out or are just old? Is it possible to convert them to LED’s and make them significantly brighter? Or is it a hassle?

Finally, please forgive me if this is an already explored topic, I am new and unfamiliar to the forums.

Edit: Thanks to the person who helped sort out my lights and getting them turned on, however my questions still remain. Can I upgrade them to LED’s? Or will only stock replacements work? Where can I source new bulbs, LED or stock? Forgive me, as I know extremely little about electrics, lol.

KEY ON turns on the PONTIAC lights.
Has nothing to do with headlight/lights switch.

Oh, thank you. I’m still very new to the world of Fiero’s, if it wasn’t obvious lol. I love it, but that doesn’t mean I know a thing about them. However, my questions remain the same. Is there a possibility of upgrading them to newer, brighter LED’s? Or where could I source some OEM replacement bulbs?

Fiero Lighting up P-logo on back of GT is "Dim" for a reason.
So...
People won't "confuse" w/ brake and tail lights.
Won't be a Ticket Manget in many places.

As is and more so If brighter, Lightup logo doesn't meet FMVSS rules for new cars, NHTSA/USDOT rules or laws in many places for Vehicle External Lighting for street driving anywhere.
This is a big reason why nearly no other vehicles have lighted logos on them.

If you use LED... Make Sure is Not "CANBUS error free" type.
Smokin' hot CANbus LED lamps. (230C in open air.) - YouTube

You could make/mod LED w/ bigger resistors to limit current thru the LED so is Dim for this use.
Many LED to replace 194 and other bulbs are dim to start.

"Dim" LEDs may last as advertise... Many "Bright" LEDs can't dump heat they make and worse are "over driven" pushing current thru them very high and have other issues so will never last in a car or in a lot of other places. That's even w/o the CANBUS problems above.
Many "Home" LED to replace standard 60W etc 120vac bulbs are or have failed for same reason.

For other exterior lights...

Use PFF search.
