What brakes are these?? (Page 1/1)

I jacked up the rear of my Fiero I bought last year to start work under and around the engine. I was a little shocked to find vented rotors, and calipers with no parking brake levers....

Anyone know what these might be from? The rotors seem too small for the Grand Am brakes, and there are no brackets mounting the calipers on. So whatever they are they're extremely close to the Fiero original size, just probably from the front of something since there is no parking brake provision...

Pretty sure those are grand am rotors and calipers.

So the Grand Am brakes would have bolted right up without adapters? I guess most of the upgrades I've seen they go to larger rotors, so I assumed you had to have the brackets and larger rotors.

Correct, the grand am brakes are the only ones to be a mostly direct bolt on and don't need adapters, but they are not a large rotor brake kit.

What about your front brakes? Are they vented rotors, too? If so, the previous owner may have done a 4-wheel Grand Am brake replacement. Also, unless you have a line lock or some other device installed, you have no parking brake. (But you probably already know that.)

The front brakes are stock. I knew the parking brake didn't work, but I assumed it was locked up cables...In a way, it was-they were still locked up, but the ends were zip-tied up in the fender wells.

"People" put Front calipers on Fiero Rear axle and leave stock in Front because their Morons. This is Illegal in most places even when "passes Inspection" or state w/o Inspection just because has no P-brake.
Worse This is GA "upgrade" parts making the car Dangerous to drive.
See my Cave, Brake Upgrade

After That...
The rotors are F'd and even in has enough metal, many shops won't Turn them. Many Shop won't even work on brakes w/ Illegal Mod's because people will sue later and other legal problems.
The calipers are likely F'd too.

Is Likely has more "mods" in the system.
Look at MC to see if has non-factory plumbing w/ extra things attach.
Worse, may have Brazer MC making Stock Front Weak. Hard to say because OE MC may hind rear caliper problems to a point...
