Wiring harness for the fuel pump (Page 1/1)

Got an 86 with the 2.8 and 4 speed. Seems that there’s no signal coming from the computer to the fuel pump and I keep popping fuses. My friend told me I might need a new sending unit, pump, computer, and wiring harness. I’ve already got the sending unit, computer, and pump, but I can’t seem to find the right wiring harness for the fuel pump. The one that comes from the computer to the pump. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Is no "friend..."

F-pump blowing fuse isn't ECM.
Pump get power via F-pump Relay and Switch in Oil Pressure Sender.
Either of them can have problems or the pump is bad or wires to the pump is shorted.

Sender won't blow pump fuse too.

Tank and most other wiring no longer made.

Tank has connector in engine bay often hard see from top. right below 2 bulkhead passthru for ECM and main wire in firewall.
Discon that plug then turn key on.
Blow fuse then or no?

wires are
black ground
other are sender and pump.
Sender is resistor type 0 - 90 Ω

The strange thing is that it’ll run for a few minutes, but when I try to drive it, it’ll pop the fuse after a few minutes of driving, and now it’ll pop only starting it. I had a terrible wiring job and the wires are touching the cat. I’d gotten so excited and just hacked it all together in the worst way possible. Could there still be a short in the computer?

Edit: it might also help to say he wasn’t getting any sort of signal from the computer, that it’ll run for a minute, but once the gas is sloshing around the tank, the fuse pops.
