Well with the limited info, I'll just randomly guess EGR tube is cracked/failed and needs to be replaced.

If the EGR tube is in fact the issue, Rodney sells nice replacements for $60 in 304 stainless with a heatshield.

Otherwise you could check the following:

TPS Sensor
C.C. Vacuum canister
Coolant Temp. Sensor
IAC Valve

Sometimes the throttle plate can stick and give issues as well.

I think egr thanks. I have read about replacing egr control from s-10, just posted a new post asking questions about it.

That or Brake Vac line.

87 doesn't have booster filter in engine bay but the Booster line can leak anywhere even the steel line can rust and get a small hole.
Booster itself or plastic valve on it can leak too.

Do Not drive while testing.
Pinch closed or decon and plug the rubber sections of booster line and see if idle drops.

I have replaced all metal brake lines, master cyln and brakes and calipers. was thinking about rodney dickmann kit and s-10 booster, since I think pedal has to much distance. going to replace egr solenoid w/ s-10 conversion 1st. thanks for all advice

That Has nothing to do w/ high idle problem.

Brake Vac line runs from engine to the booster Thru the console in the cabin.
Plastic parts and Rubber hose sections can fail. Metal pipe can rust inside, outside or both making holes. Either/all causing Vacuum Leaks causing High Idle or even so bad car won't start.
Failed Booster causes hard to very hard pedal, high idle or both. Note: Often only have high idle when actually using a failed booster to stop.
87-88 has Bigger Booster Vac Line then early years and many "books" have wrong parts listed like wrong plastic vacuum valve on the booster. Most cars and older Fiero have 3/8" booster vac line but 87-88 Fiero have 1/2" vac line and related parts. Very hard to find the plastic valve on the booster if is bad because of this.

Bigger booster won't solve Spongy or Low Pedal problems. 99+% of time, Those are air in the system or too much pad clearance to clamp the rotors.
Rebuild rear calipers can be bad out of the box causing low pedal.
Wrong/no lube on the caliper "sliders" doesn't help.
See my Cave, Rear Brakes and rest of brake section.
