Leaking coming from Transmission (Page 1/1)

I just bled the clutch line because I replaced the clutch master cylinder. I did it for a very long time, clutch pedal felt fine closed everything up, started car and tried to go in gear, nothing clutch pedal went weak again, went under the car and saw this leaking it looks like but I have no idea what it is. Looks like its on trans drivers side.

I can't help you but looking at the picture, are you sure the leak isn't coming from the stainless steel line above that? It almost looks discolored from fluid.

Well you know you at least have a clutch hydraulic problem. Look for that leak first. Are any of the lines wet? Then if you're still getting a leak at the transmission, then tackle that later.

Agreed. Fix clutch leak first.

But, that part is called - Cover, shift shaft - GM PN 14080595 (discontinued)
It has a rubber seal around the edge of the cup. Is held in by a snap ring.

A leaking shift shaft cover has no bearing on a weak pedal after bleeding.

Check your clutch line front to back for leaks.

How old are your master and slave?

1) What kind of fluid is leaking? There are two fluids associated with manual trans; A) Transmission fluid (Inside transmission) and B) Clutch fluid, which is in the clutch line and slave cylinder. Check the fluid to see which is leaking.

2) You stated that the clutch pedal went "Weak"...That would point to a leak in the clutch hydraulic system (That is probably your problem)

Try wiping the fluid off while comparing it to your clutch fluid and your trans fluid- once the area is dry, place a couple of paper towels up in the area (Strategically) to catch fluid dripping before the plastic cover, then try operating the clutch (Engine off)......Immediately check those paper towels to see if you can nail down the source of the leak....
