Oil pan gasket change for a 1985 Fiero 2.5 (4 cylinder) (Page 1/1)

well i put the motor in my car and runs like a champ. only one issue the oil pan leaks near the harmonic balancer. doesn't appear i put enough gasket sealer on it.

any advice on how i can replace this oil pan gasket with the motor in the car? or should i pull it again and make my life easier. of course i didn't use a gasket i used ultra black sealant so it should be fun to pull off. does any one think if i squirt sealant in the gap where its leaking would work?

are you sure it is the oil pan and not the front cover, or HMB seal?

L4 timing cover to pan is often a pain...
Either...
1. Timing cover has holes to keep a large "rubber" casket in place... Need to install that right on Clean Oil Free Parts or will leak.

2. Timing cover has NO holes to keep a large casket in place... They use A Lot of RTV on Clean Oil Free Parts and days to set completely.

⚠️ Warning: too much is as bad as too little in this joint. huge boogers will get loose and plug up oil pump etc.

If you mess up then have new pan gasket and/or cover gasket because back to "Square One."
