Maybe this has been going on for years and I just noticed, but my oil pressure gauge sits comfortably at 40 when idling but goes up considerably with higher engine rpms (makes sense) and drops into the red zone and even to the point the red warning light comes on when turning hard left. Even worse if left turn is downhill.
1995 era but rebuilt 3.4 liter pushrod engine installed. I did not do the swap myself but realize the oil pan must have been modified. I just now checked the hot oil level on the dipstick. Right on the full line. Oil looks clean, not perfect but a long way from dark.
Normal? Anything to worry about?

If the engine starves for oil you will hear it immediately, and it will be loud.

When I did your swap, I installed the 3.4 oil pump and modified the baffles in the 2.8 pan to allow the use of the pickup tube and screen for the 3.4 oil pump.
