Hey guys, I have an 86 GT. Went to get in it a few days ago, only to feel something loose. Turns out it was a little metal loop that seems to have somehow attached to the door handle. It still locks, unlocks, and opens fine though. So, what is it? Currently its just dangling under the door handle, out of sight.
It’s a little hard to see, but the diagonal line going across the bottom of the door handle is it. So again, what is it, and how can I put it back in position?

That is the door handle tension spring I believe......Here is a pic of the back side of the handle showing the spring;
