88 rear suspension bolts (Page 1/1)
Carver1 OCT 17, 10:27 PM
I am putting an 88 Fiero back together and I am missing most of the hardware. I have the cradle bolts, but not the suspension bolts. Anyone have a source or have the dimensions?

Thanks!

Go to the mall and post inside Handyman Pat's "Parts from all years" thread, send a DM too. He most likely has all the stuff you will need for a very reasonable price. He's helped me countless times.

Isn't just size matching...
Many suspension bolts, nuts, and washers are Class 10.9 hardness or better.
And not available thru many stores.

Buy used is ok but watch for weird colors from heating.

I had mine blown apart just a few weeks ago. I could have answered your question. As previously said they're metric so get 10.9 bolts. That's basically the same as grade 8 imperial bolts. Use the high strength nuts too. Sourcing these larger metric bolts may be troublesome for you. McMaster Carr can be your friend. They'll have everything you need. It'll cost a little more than you expect because you'll have to buy quantity...more than you need most likely. Shipping is fast. If you're lucky you'll have a warehouse nearby and you can use will call. I have one that's a $10 drive away. Ten bucks usually covers shipping to my house. So I either wait a day or two for parts to arrive or I drive there and have the parts in 2 hours. Either way it's a wash. The long bolt at the knuckle for the lateral links can be sourced from Rodney Dickman.

Consider replacing all four of your lateral links with fully adjustable rod end links. It's a DIY project and you can get all the details from Fiero Guru. I did this. As suggested I sourced these parts from Summit Racing and McMaster Carr. Looks nice in the car too.
