F23. Stock V6 block and flywheel. Fiero V6 clutch. Release bearing issues? (Page 1/1)

The title sums it up rather briefly.
I'm installing an LQ1 with a regular 88 Fiero Flywheel. Using a Ram clutch designed for a Fiero. (Assume stock pressure plate finger height.)
The trans is an F23. Using the F23 release bearing, am I going to need any kind of a spacer to make it work correctly?
Prompted by "guru's" comment in the F40 thread, how much travel should I allow for with the F23 release bearing, before it over extends.
Or, in other words, how much space should I allow between the face of the release bearing and the fingers?

Edit - I suppose I should ask if the Fiero master displaces too much fluid for the F23 TOB, since that seems to be a thing, for some folks.

I really don't want to screw up and have to do this more than once.
Thanks.

Steve, there has been so much mixing and matching of parts within the Fiero line, it is impossible to say definitively if you will need a spacer.

1st - you will have to verify the pressure plate clears the differential boss. If not, then you will need to find one of the other pressure plate styles.
2nd - you will have to measure and verify placement of the clutch fingers to the HTOB range of motion.

There is no way around these two steps, unless you want to pull the drivetrain a few times after install to address them later.

The other thing you can do is buy a clutch for the 2.2 cavalier that came with the F23, it will bolt to your flywheel, and the PP fingers will be in the right range. I do HIGHLY recommend measuring either way though.

My F23 setup uses a Bully Stage 4 clutch for the cavalier, has no spacer, and hasn't had hyperextension issues.

Thanks Paul and Eric. I appreciate the comments.
Yeah... I intended to measure, anyway. Repeatedly. But don't want to make any false starts or spend any money unnecessarily.
