I have an 84 SE and I just rebuilt one of the headlight motors. I put it back in and it worked fine. I then proceeded to leave the trunk open (I just fixed my trunk switch last weekend) and drained the batt. I charged the battery and then anytime any light is on, it seems there's a short. brake lights, tail lights, reverse lights, blinkers, parking lights, headlights, all exterior lights. the battery voltage with the light switch on is like 0.4v. I tried disconnecting the light that I repaired and it did not help. where could the short be?

glad you found the problem. You could have still had an issue with the headlight motor draining your battery. let us know if it keeps happening.

it did happen again, but it was simply because I didn't run the engine long enough to charge the batt. was fine after a 20 minute drive.
