So I’m putting a carb on my motor and I’ve seen couple pics of other people cars who have done it . My question is I’ve seen one that had a coil on top of the cap with advanced and was thinking isn’t that distributor for the 90 degree motors , Does 90 degree distributors work in a 60 degree motor ???? Am I better off sticking with the 1984 s10 distributor with vacuum advance , ?

I don't think the distributor cares what angle the cylinder is at.....but was the picture you saw a 2.8?

HEI Coil on (Distributor) Cap is mostly or only for V8 not V6 and others. And they have many problems. More so when idiots remove frame ground for the coil.

Early 2.8s used the HEI coil-on-cap design. Ask at the parts store (or online) for a distributor from a 1982 Chevy Celebrity with a 2.8 (to name one common example).
