F23 shifting issue (Page 1/1) mcguiver3 OCT 25, 08:32 PM Been having a problem with the F23 in my 88 Formula. Shifting 1-2 3-4 5-R (forward/backward) is fine moving across the gate is the issue. Feels like it's binding to get from 3-4 to 5-R Cable is OK (disconnected and it moves great) Looks like a tranny teardown is imminent? Any thoughts guys and gals? fieroguru OCT 26, 05:41 AM The positioning of the select cable on typical F23s is less than ideal and could be binding the cable. When I reworked the swap the F23 tutorial was based on, the select cable position on the bracket left a lot to be desired. Moving it to be better aligned was one of the things done during that swap.
