Coil over strut replacement problem. Need help asap. Picture inside (Page 1/1)

I've been having suspension handling issues (separate thread) . I decided to replace the gas struts with the identical KYB models. I will update the other thread appropriately, but right now I need help with this specific issue asap as I have the car disassembled in the driveway.

After removal of the strut assembly and removal of the top nut you can see the result in the photo. I'm pretty sure this is a West Coast Fiero product installed by the previous owner. I looked up the item on their page but I don't see this broken piece pictured. I assume it is used for centering the upper portion of the spring or acting as a buffer of some kind. Would it be part of the coil over product or is this something that is commonly available?

Bump for added pictures.

That does not look like my Coil-over set-up (Arraut) but I believe that is an after-market Poly bump-stop....which would contact the top of your strut to stop other parts being damaged...I used the original rubber piece but then was able to cut it down a bit for longer travel.

Are you referring to the jounce bumper? Using that term in an online search you can probably find a generic replacement.

If you buy the KYB strut boot for the Fiero, it comes packaged with a divorced bumpstop.
