I have a 4T60E behind a 4.9 and the I don't have enough travel to get into low gear. Is there a way I can fix this problem?

Has the shift selection lever on the transmission been sufficiently shortened to match the detents on the auto shifter? You can easily measure this by disconnecting the shift cable at the transmission and moving the trans shift lever to low position. Then you put the shifter in low and see if the positions match up. Some shift cables are adjustable and some are not. AFAIK the shifter is not adjustable although the manual says that it is.
