Hi, Just got a 86 GT last week and has cracked manifolds and broken torsion spring. Springs are for wing,no luggage rack.I see a little white paint on end.

I've sent messages to supporters, but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone help?????

I would buy Rodney's gas struts and pull the springs.

I have only installed springs with the engine out... It was a nightmare. IDK how it would go with the engine in the way..

I have seen the rods,,,it's a option,,,but really would like the torsion springs again. A friend has told me to drop the cradle and motor to get at the manifolds any how, so maybe pefect time to do the rods.

Those torsion rods scare the heck out of me just removing them. They are under so much load and tension.

With the decklid and the tension adjustment pins removed, I didn't find it to be difficult at all to replace the torsion rods.
