Flashing electricals on start (Page 1/1)

Hello,
I just bought a 1987 GT with a 3.4 upgrade,and 5 speed.
There are a few issues to fix.
On starts, all the instruments flash for about 20 seconds, and I noticed the park lights flash with it.
Are there usual causes for that?
I should note the tach is inop, and the water temperature gauge needle fell off. It has a added external water temp gauge laying behind the cluster. I am not sure if it works or not.
Attached is a picture of the new project.

Is Not Normal...

Head Light Switch has auto-reset breaker for HL bulbs but should not flash other things.
AC and PW have same in the fuse box but should not flash other things.
And they won't stop at 20-30 seconds.

Chime Unit turns On Seat Belt light every time you start. Makes noise only when D-side seat belt latch is unused. Doesn't affect other lights.
More See my Cave, Chime Unit

Maybe has added security system and that's flashing.
God knows where/how that was done by a store or DIY.
Ask the previous owner.

I have put in word to a previous owner to see if any light can be shed. Just waiting on an answer back.
On driving about a tank of gas through it, I have noticed two other electrical things.
One-the volt gauge is 2 ticks below the red on the high side. I dont remember my other GT doing that?
Two- I hear a regular ticking sound from the driver side of the dash.
I am throwing it all out there just in case some small something leads to a cause.
Thanks for listening!
