The shipping from TFS is twice the price of the sensor itself.

Is this the correct oem part?

seems right. Is for ECM to read engine temp.
Is GM number but ACDelco can use it.

ACDelco are 213-928 and 15-51107. Second is "Gold" or "Pro Grade"

Note 87-88 should already come with the new plug to use that sensor. If plug is damage them need a pigtail to replace it. You can't fix the plug most times.

Try https://parts-catalog.acdelco.com/ or rockauto.com to check more part numbers.

You don't indicate if you're in need of the sensor for the ECM or the sensor for the temperature gauge. That sensor isn't for the temperature gauge.

That sensor is the one located underneath the thermostat housing, screwed into the end of the lower intake manifold on the 2.8 engines. It is the one commonly mistakenly sold by auto parts stores for the temperature gauge that screws into the cylinder head near the ignition coil. They usually tell you it's the new design and you will need a different harness to splice into your engine harness.

The plastic head of the gauge sending unit is round and has a slit in the side. The one underneath the thermostat housing in your image has an oval head. All 2.8's use the same sensor and there is no need to cut and splice that harness.

Then that would be the correct one for that problem. Installs horizontally into the lower intake just below the thermostat housing and just above the water pump.
