That Cadillac Seville Rear Brake Upgrade (Page 1/2)
RotrexFiero DEC 17, 07:44 PM
Well, I have all the components for the above rear brake upgrade, except the discs. What year/model car discs do I need.

I remember there being a write up or some documentation but can't find anything.

I purchased the calipers, and also the brackets. I remember I didnt move on it because it required some trickery with the e-brake cable I wasnt ready to deal with.

There's this thread:

The consequences of not saving images using PIP are obvious here, but it is still possible to follow the story by reading the text.

Having never done this modification, I am unable to comment on how well it functions but the Seville calipers while still available may not be for long. They were used on just a few 80's GM vehicles , Riviera, Toronado and Seville. Except for maybe better brake function they may lead to the same availability issue that we see now with the Fiero Calipers. The also might require a larger capacity master cylinder.

Thanks for that link

I remember that.

But, what size grand am rotors? Are there only one size?

It is never mentioned in the discussion.

Can I see your bracket? It's likely a LeBaron rotor.

Seville Rear Brake has same piston design as OE Fiero w/ all of same problems.
So if you have used ones, likely bad now or soon.

I'll get a pic of them, but they look like the brackets in the second part of the above write up.

I fit tested them to the rear of the Fiero and with the Cadillac calipers. Minus the necessary rotor they seem to line up.

I collected my Cadillac Rear brake upgrade years ago, but as mentioned, never followed through because of the complexities of the E-brake. The calipers are new.

What I am noticing now is there are some minor peculiarities to this. Like my bracket mounting bolts dont fit, and you have to resize the holes. It's not the bolt on I thought it was.

The rotor in the Arns85GT thread was the usual Grand Am rotor that Fieros use when they do the "Grand Am" brake swap, if I remember correctly.

Buy one and see if it fits...
