Chime active with door close is something else is on or have problems.
Don't just pull the blue box.

and a question I have removed the blue box now it no longer sounds, is it okay if I leave it disassembled?

I've left that thing out of the car for the past 11 years. Plus the last few years of my previous Fiero before that.
Only consequence is that it won't be able to beep at you anymore.

If the box is "bad" then removing won't cause major problems.

W/o chime unit expect to forget key in car, light on, etc.
Light on more so when door motor are disable for any reason like many do for winter.

If Box was making noise for other reasons... car still has same problem and expect something major will happen soon.
