Speakers in '86 GT (Page 1/1)

This morning, while working on the new console for my GT, I noticed something I had never seen before... There are what appear to be multiple speaker grilles on the interior B-pillar trim panels; 1 on each side at head level, and 1 on each side nearer the floor. I know my car does not have the factory subwoofer (or any sub, for that matter), and therefore also does not have the factory amp. My question is, does each of those grilles cover a speaker or component? Or are the lower grilles part of the interior ventilation? The less I have to take the car apart before I have to, in order to learn as much as I can about it, the better it is for so many reasons. Any ideas? Thanks in advance - Chris

Thanks, Fiero1234. Yes, my car has grilles and speakers in the locations covered in the video. But it also has two more grilles in the trim panels beside/behind the seats. They're larger than the upper grilles and very near the floor. It would be cool if there were component speakers behind them, until they need replaced, which will probably happen as soon as I throw in a Rush cd...

Bingo.

Thanks, Patrick. Dang. I was afraid of that, as much as I was hoping for the speakers. Well, that at least helps me form more of the plan for the car.

Yes, lower B pillar grids are part of cabin constant air to prevent you falling asleep driving.
Find owners book to see overview how it works...
output is the sail panel "glass" panel on most Fiero as shown. GT is under the "glass" thru to rear of car.
