I have an 86 v6 that started giving me problems recently after some work and I need some help finding the cause. It idles well and runs well once over 2.5k rpm, it also takes off well but once moving it has no power until it hits 2.5k

What kind of work?
For example, if there was ignition work done, was the ALDL jumper in place when the timing was done?

i replaced the intake gasket because it was leaking coolant into the oil, i did however remove the distributor for more room
as for the ALDL jumper, i did not have it in place, would that cause my problem?

It would certainly cause a problem, as your timing will be far too retarded.

Did you rotate the engine when you replaced the gasket? Did you put the distributor back in the same orientation?
